Dear Craft Vendor,
The Midnight Sun Intertribal Powwow Council is now accepting vendor applications. The price for arts and crafts vendors is 100.00 for this three day event. Vendors will have an area of 10ft. x 20 ft. Please come prepared with all the necessary gear or equipment. You need to provide to bring your own tables, chairs, canopy, tarps, rope, tape, etc. There are a limited number of spots and no electricity. Fire extinguishers are mandatory.
The 2008 event will once again be held behind the Carlson Center at 2010 2nd Ave.
The field will be accessible for set up by 10am on Friday and 8am on Saturday and Sunday. The 2008 event schedule runs from 5pm – 11pm on Friday, July11, from 11am – 11pm on Saturday, July 12, and from 11am – 6pm on Sunday, July 13. Vendors must be ready to open for business and remain open for the duration of the event. After the closing on Sunday everyone must shut down, clean up and then vacate the grounds.

***VENDORS MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING:
The MSIPC will accept applications from Native American artists, crafters, Indian traders, institutions, and others who demonstrate ONLY positive images for and about Native Americans. Items for sale, which are deemed inappropriate or offensive by the MSIP committee, will be removed immediately.
The powwow committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
No sharing of vendor space. Each space rented is for one vendor/family only.
In accordance with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990(P.L101-644), it shall be unlawful to display for sale or to sell any product that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, and Indian product or the product of a particular Indian Tribe, or Indian arts and craft association.
Each vendor is responsible for the conduct of his/her own children. This is a spiritual event, lets all be responsible and respectful of one another. Keep your area clean; respect Mother Earth.
Items not permitted for sale will include firearms and drug paraphernalia: raw materials will be allowed with adherence to Federal and State Law. Remember, be responsible.
No alcohol, drugs, or firearms will be allowed.
Powwow organizers will not be responsible for any accidents, injury, or theft.
No food items will be allowed for sale at a craft vendor’s table; you will have to obtain and fill out a food vendor application, and follow its guidelines.
If necessary, refunds can be granted up to July 1, 2008, if requested in writing by the person who applied and paid for a vendor space.
Applications MUST BE POSTDATED no later than June 1, 2008, to guarantee your spot. Some spots might be available on a first come/first serve basis but can not be guaranteed. No checks will be accepted after June 15, 2008. You must register and set up by 5pm on July 11 or the committee reserves the right to resell your vendor space and will not refund fees.

Dear Food Vendor
2008 Food Vendor Application and Contract:
Thank you for your interest in participating in the seventh annual Midnight Sun Intertribal Powwow to be held July 11 – 13 in the field behind the Carlson Center, 1020 2nd Avenue.
We are currently accepting vendor applications under the following guidelines. There will be a limited number of spaces available and, unfortunately, there is no electricity at this site. Applications must be postmarked by June 1, 2008, to guarantee your spot. The fee for food vendors is $150 for this 3 day event. In order to be approved, all applications must include a copy of your DEC food permit. You will be required to show proof of insurance for this event before you begin set up. An official from the State of Alaska will conduct an inspection at the site on Friday afternoon so please ensure that you are prepared and able to pass all inspections required for selling food at this event.
The site will be accessible for set up for food vendors as of 9am on Friday, July 11. If needed, we can also accommodate requests to set up Thursday evening provided that you make arrangements with the committee at least one week in advance. We expect that you will be ready for business when the gate opens and stay open throughout the entire event. The schedule for 2008 is as follows: 5pm – 11pm on Friday, July 11; 11am – 11pm on Saturday, July 12; and 11am – 6pm on Sunday, July 13. At the conclusion of the powwow, everyone must shut down, clean up and then vacate the site that same evening.

All vendors will set up in your assigned spot and will comply with the guidelines as specified herein.
Powwow organizers will not be responsible for any accidents, injuries, or theft.
The powwow committee reserves the right to refuse any entry application.
Absolutely NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, OR FIREARMS ALLOWED.
Keep your area clean; respect Mother Earth.
All applications must be postdated no later than June 1, 2008; after that date, if any spots are left they will be sold on a first come basis. No checks will be accepted after June 15, 2008. If you are a no-show as of 4pm on July 11, 2008; the powwow committee reserves the right to resell your vendor space and no money shall be refunded.
